Recently, the overhaul project of Kardemir 4 # blast furnace in Turkey, which was undertaken by Sinosteel Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinosteel Equipment"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel International, was successfully completed, and the first batch of iron was discharged from the blast furnace. At present, all systems are running normally.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir (Karabük Demir Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.) is the only railroad rail manufacturer in Turkey. At the end of 2020, Sinosteel Equipment bid remotely, and won the bid for the overhaul and upgrading EP project of Kardemir 1 # blast furnace after several rounds of competition. On March 14, 2022, the #1 blast furnace was successfully ignited, and the employer provided the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) in September, which was a successful conclusion of the first cooperation between them.
At the time the #1 blast furnace was put into operation, Kardemir took the initiative to invite Sinosteel to participate in the overhaul project of the #4 blast furnace, which presented a safety hazard and had completely disrupted the original production plan of the plant. It was urgent to get the 4# blast furnace back into production and to ensure safe and stable operation.
On April 1, Sinosteel Equipment signed an EP contract with Kardemir, Turkey for the overhaul of 4# blast furnace - Sinosteel Equipment was responsible for the overhaul of the blast furnace body and supply of key equipment such as furnace resistant materials, furnace shells, cooling walls and air outlet equipment, as well as the subsequent equipment installation and commissioning.
The project team of Sinosteel Equipment planned ahead, provided a detailed plan for the employer, and submitted an accurate construction drawing design in the shortest possible time; the procurement department coordinated various resources, compressed the manufacturing period of key equipment, and organized the shipment in time to ensure the supply of high-quality equipment and materials. Within one month after the contract was signed, Sinosteel Equipment completed the design and procurement at a high level, highlighting China speed and China quality in the epidemic.
While Sinosteel Equipment's high quality and high level of service was highly recognized by the customer, this competent team also maintained effective communication with the employer, which constitutes an important part of the smooth progress of the project.
