From June 23 to 24, 2005, the First China Coke International Market Seminar was held in Beijing. The two-day conference was hosted by CCCMC and Commerce Department of Shanxi, co-hosted by Sinosteel Corporation, China Minmetals Corporation, Sinochem Corporation, etc. Vice president Mr. He Lin delivered a theme speech on behalf of Sinosteel—“Facing Two Markets in China and Abroad, Promoting the Healthy and Sustainable Development of Coking Industry”. Sinosteel also took part in the exhibiting section of the seminar.
Over 370 delegates from 18 countries and regions engaging in coke production, trade, scientific research and application attended the seminar. Fu Ziying, assistant to the commerce minister, Song Beishan, vice governor of Shanxi Province and officials from the State Development and Reform Commission were also invited to delivering speeches.
Representatives of the seminar discussed on the state macro-control policy on coke industry, the influence of the change of Chinese coke market on the need and supply of international coke market, the influence of raw material supply and transportation on the development of coke industry and the analysis and perspective of 2005 domestic and international coke markets.
