On the afternoon of Feb. 14, 2006, vice president Li Zhimin met PWC Australian Guests in meeting room 713, including a tax law partner, a consulting partner, a local company Chinese tax law manager and two managers in Beijing Branch tax consultation and mergers & acquisitions. Vice president Li introduced the general situation of Sinosteel overseas mineral resources development, especially the projects in Australia, he stressed that as one of the state-owned enterprises that first “Go Global” launching successful mineral resource project, Sinosteel has accumulated rich overseas experience with advantages in exploration, mining & beneficiation technology, marketing, technical support and infrastructure construction. Mr. Li also mentioned that the acknowledgement of the investment environment such as market analysis, partner selection and tax law and the support from the two national governments are both essential.Agreed with Mr. Li, PWC Australian tax law partner Mr. Seymour also believed that with all the above-mentioned advantages, Sinosteel is very competitive. Consultation partner Mr. Blom and the two Beijing manager introduced PWC services. They pointed out that as more and more Chinese companies invested abroad, the local foreign companies have adopted specific professional service-team working mode for Chinese-invested companies in the fields of tax, finance, mergers and acquisitions. They would like to carry out further cooperation with Sinosteel.
Vice president Li thanked the guests for their introduction, and expressed the wish to carry out cooperation with PWC worldwide, not just limited to Australia and to discuss on specific projects.
