Vice President Li Zhimin Meeting Myanmar Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha

On the afternoon of Feb. 15, 2006, vice president Li Zhimin met Myanmar Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse who accompanied the visiting Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar General Soe Win. Vice president Li made a brief introduction on Sinosteel’s recent development, the operation of the three core businesses and the achievements in internationalized operation. Mr. Li focused on the overseas mineral resources development and the advantages in this field. Sinosteel would like to exert its advantages with the support and guidance from the two governments, promote the economic development and cooperation of the two countries, especially in metallurgical mineral resources development and relative trade. Minister Soe Tha highly praised Sinosteel on its achievement in corporate development. Meanwhile, co-development of natural resources between the two countries follows the state policies, which is also the important content in the economic cooperation. Minister Soe Tha affirmed on Sinosteel’s strength and advantages in overseas resources development, he would fully support Sinosteel to conduct relative project in Myanmar. The meeting with Minister Soe Tha is assigned by Myanmar prime minister General Soe Win. Vice president Li attended the meeting on behalf of Sinosteel president Mr. Huang, and extended the wish to receive Myanmar government support in specific project.    Personnel from International Cooperation Dept. and Sinosteel Sichuan Company attended the meeting.
