On Feb. 16, Sinosteel Shandong Mining Co., Ltd. was established in Shandong Linyi. It was joint-invested by Sinosteel Corporation and Linyi Sanshan Import & Export Trading Co., Ltd. with 80% share in Sinosteel and the rest 20% in the latter company. The establishment of the company marks the installation commencement of Sinosteel Cangshan iron ore project construction. Sinosteel president Huang Tianwen, Shandong Linyi vice secretary, deputy mayor Xu Jingyan removed the curtain from the plate of Sinosteel Shandong Mining Co., Ltd. The official of the Economic Operation Department of National Development and Reform Commission Mr. Jia Yinsong, party secretary of China Iron & Steel Association Mr. Liu Zhenjiang, consultant of China Metallurgical Mine Association Mr. Dong Jiaxiang, vice director of Shandong Land and Resources Dept. Mr. Shao Qingchun, leaders from Linyi and Cangshan Government, and media, altogether 100 plus attended the ceremony.In recent years, Sinosteel carry out the strategy of “equal importance on domestic and overseas resources and markets”, vigorously develop overseas resource projects with domestic resources, one of which is Cangshan iron ore mine. Located in Shandong Linyi Cangshan County, the total reserve of the mine is 80 million tons with good natural condition, facial burial ground, low-risk in mining and beneficiation, rich water & electricity resources and good exploring prospect. After the installation of the project, the production scale will reach one million tons of fine iron ore per year. During the first session, it will produce 2 million tons of raw ore per year and 600 thousand tons of fine with the exploring length of 30 years. During his visit in Linyi, president Huang also met Linyi city secretary Mr. Li Qun and mayor Mr. Lian Chengmin and discussed on cooperation between the two parties; he also visited the county government and was warmly received by the county secretary, director of the county CPPCC Mr. Zhang Wenyu, county governor Mr. Wang Xinghua. Afterwards, Mr. Huang visited Linyi Sanshan Import & Export Trading Co., Ltd. and inspected the mine spot in Xiaoyanzhuang Village.
