From October 19 to 21, Mr Tianwen Huang attended “The 4th China Int’l Steel and Raw Materials Conference 2004” in Shanghai, hosted by China Iron & Steel Association and organized by Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. On the conference, Mr Huang delivered a public speech entitled “The Status Quo & Prospect of China's Iron Ore Trade”.Mr Tianwen Huang analyzed the status quo of China’s iron ore trade in the following aspects: the rapid development of China’s iron & steel industry propels the development of iron ore trade; the domestic and overseas iron ore supply sets up conditions for iron ore trade; the way of trading and change of grades provide broad market for iron ore trade and the problems existing in the iron ore trade. He also raised four prospects for the iron ore trade: the macroscopic economic situation will drive the sustainable development of iron ore trade, setting up stable overseas resource supply is the foundation, the sound development of sea transportation is the key factor and the domestic shipping transport capability will still be the bottleneck. During the speech, Mr Huang made a general introduction on the functions and advantages of Sinosteel Corporation in iron ore trade. His speech was well welcomed by the participants on the conference.
Mr Huang also met some major domestic and overseas iron ore suppliers and speakers from iron & steel producing enterprises, trading companies and shipping companies, and exchanged views on mutual cooperation, development and market information.
On “The 4th China Int’l Steel and Raw Materials Conference 2004”, nearly 600 top-notch domestic and overseas iron ore material producers and sellers, end-users, concerned directors and experts in the industry, experts from international iron & steel associations and consulting companies in the steel industry, discussed and studied on the iron ore material market and the status quo, developing trend and cooperating opportunities of trade in China and around the world.
