From May 26 to 28, a delegation led by Liu Andong, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sinosteel visited Sinosteel MGIMR and Sinosteel New Materials Co., Ltd. (“Sinosteel NMC” for short) to learn about their prevention against the COVID-19, production and operation, industrial development, reform and innovation. Wang Wenjun, Deputy General Manager of Sinosteel, participated in the survey.
On the afternoon of May 26, Liu Andong met in Maanshan with Zhang Yuefeng, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Wu Jing, the Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, and other local party and government leaders in Maanshan. They had an in-depth discussion on the presence and future development of Sinosteel’s new material business in the city and attended the signing ceremony for the New Material Industrial Park Project of Sinosteel MGIMR that settled in the Economic Development Zone of Maanshan. On the same day, the delegation led by Liu Andong also visited Sinosteel Nanjing Research Institute of Advanced Materials to learn more about the establishment of a technological innovation platform, recruitment of high-level talents, R&D of cutting-edge reserve technologies in the field of new materials, and incubation of technological achievements in Sinosteel NMC, Sinosteel MGIMR, Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research, and Sinosteel Anshan Research Institute of Thermo-Energy Co., Ltd.
On the morning of May 27, the delegation led by Liu Andong inspected the carbon aerogel pilot line that is being industrialized. They asked in detail about the market prospects, product development, and future planning of the production line. They also visited the production site in the south district of the New Material Company to learn about the production, operation and market development of hollow glass microspheres. They came to the national scientific and technological innovation platforms for the safety and health of metal mines and the deep processing and utilization of mineral resources to learn about the construction and operation of the innovation platforms. At the subsequent discussion, Xu Chuanhua delivered a work report on behalf of the leadership of MGIMR. Liu Andong fully affirmed the remarkable production, operation, reform and development performance of the MGIMR from January to May.
On the afternoon of May 27, the delegation led by Liu Andong conducted an in-depth survey in the production sites of Sinosteel NMC NdFeB Plant and Tongli Co., Ltd., respectively, focusing on learning about the construction and market development of the new NdFeB production line and the operation status, new market development and system management of Yushan Plant of Sinosteel NMC Tongli Co., Ltd. Later, the delegation had a discussion with the leadership team of Sinosteel NMC and listened to a special report on the production and operation of the company for the first five months of the year made by Mao Haibo on behalf of the leadership team. Liu Andong indicated that Sinosteel NMC has made fruitful and praiseworthy efforts in project construction, market development, capital operation, and reform deepening, with equal attention to prevention and control of the pandemic and to resumption and increasing efficiency of production since the outbreak of the COVID-19. He emphasized that Sinosteel NMC should focus on the strategic goal of being a first-class new material company in the world and, to this end, should step up its reform and innovation efforts, accelerate industrial development, and strive for new heights in all aspects.
