August 9 to 10, 2007, Sinosteel Midyear Conference on Overseas Work was held in Sinosteel India Pty. Ltd., New Delhi. The theme of this conference included a summary of overseas subsidiaries first half year performance on resources development, trading and comprehensive service; scheme for improving marketing capability and globalization operation; and working programme for the second half year. President Mr. Huang attended the conference and delivered a speech. Vice President Mr. Jiang chaired the conference. Heads of President’s Office, International Cooperation Dept. and overseas subsidiaries attended the conference. On the conference, the overseas subsidiary representatives made summaries of business performance during the first half of 2007 and made medium-term and long-term plan. Representative from Sinosteel Mining Co., Ltd. introduced related information on resources development and representatives from functional departments made suggestions on globalization strategy.
After representatives’ statements, Mr. Huang summarized the conference. He firstly gave high remark and appreciation on the hard word of all overseas subsidiaries and International Cooperation Dept., and then he conveyed related information of Central Enterprise Presidents Seminar, especially the speech from Mr. Li Rongrong, Director of SASAC., and he also put forwards a few requirements on future overseas undertakings.
During the conference, President Huang and his delegation met Mr. Sun Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador in India. They were interviewed by NDTV and CCTV and attended activities held by Sinosteel Pty. Ltd.
