On the afternoon of October 23, Xu Siwei, the President of Sinosteel Corporation, Chairman of Sinosteel Corporation Limited, met with the visiting Cui Shuqiang, the secretary of Haidian District and his group. Both sides friendly exchanged their views on strengthening the cooperation between the enterprise and the district, on promoting the scientific and technological innovation and other issues. Fu Shouqing, the member of the standing committee under Haidian district committee as well as the director of the office of Haidian district committee, and Wang Wenjun, the Deputy General Manager of Sinosteel Corporation Limited attended the meeting.
Xu Siwei extended a warm welcome to Secretary Cui and his group for their friendly visit to Sinosteel and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the help and support of the district committee and district government of Haidian. Xu Siwei has made a brief introduction of the current business transformation and technological innovation of Sinosteel. He pointed out that “Creation” has become the hot word of Zhongguancun at present. Especially under the impetus of “Double Creations” initiative proposed by the Party Central Committee and the State Council, Zhongguancun has become increasingly enthusiastic on creation. Currently, Sinosteel is in the stage of business transformation. On the basis of giving full play to its scientific and technological strength, Sinosteel wishes to make full use of the “Double Creations” public entrepreneurship, peoples' innovation strongly advocated by our state and also the innovation environment of Zhongguancun to further enhance the creative atmosphere of the company. In the meanwhile, Sinosteel would actively respond to the call of the Government of Beijing and Haidian District and devote itself to forging Zhongguancun into a high-end creative base. Xu Siwei expressed that the development of the central enterprises can not be separated from the support of local government. He wished that in the future, Sinosteel could further enhance its exchange and cooperation with the district committee and district government of Haidian District, promote its innovation and transformation, and make more contributions to the development of local economy and society.
Wang Wenjun has made an introduction of the work of Sinosteel in building an innovation and entrepreneurship platform for central enterprises and also clarified the related condition of the platform. He expressed that, thanks to the innovative environment of Zhongguancun, Sinosteel has become one of the earliest central enterprises that focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Sinosteel has been working on building an innovation and entrepreneurship center for central enterprises, building a bridge connecting Zhongguancun and central enterprises, and combining the abundant scientific research personnel, resources and capital of the central enterprises with the innovative enterprises of Zhongguancun so that it could work better and further increase the kinetic energy for the transformation of central enterprises and the development of local economy. He wished that the district committee and district government of Haidian District could extend some support and assistance for Sinosteel in these respects.
Cui Shuqiang expressed that at present, our country is greeting a historical opportunity for pattern change, structural adjustment and economic growth stimulation. Meanwhile, in the Outline of Collaborative Development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the innovation center for science and technology has been recognized as one of the “Four Centers” of Beijing, which could reassemble the industries related to scientific and technical innovation and provide a rare opportunity for the enterprises and local areas development. Cui wished that in the future, both parties could deepen cooperation and work together to dock the resources of science, technology and market of Sinosteel with the enterprises and financial capitals of Zhongguancun, to give full play to the role of Zhongguancun in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, to provide support and assistance for the transformation of Sinosteel, and to further promote the development of Zhongguancun and build it into a science and technology innovation center. The district committee and district government of Haidian District would try its best to provide a good environment for the development of Sinosteel.
