On August 16, 2005, Mr. Huang Tianwen led a group of Sinosteel delegation visiting Xuanhua Steel, met Xuanhua Steel chairman Mr. Liu Mingzhe and held talks with General Manager Mr. Li Guiyang. They agreed to establish strategic cooperation partnership between Sinosteel and Xuanhua Steel, consolidate all-round cooperation, exchange extensive and deep opinions and reach a common view.
Mr. Huang introduced the general situation of Sinosteel, the exploration and application of Sinosteel overseas resources, core business operation and “all-round & diversified” customer developing thought; he also said that Sinosteel has already had the advantage of providing steel mills comprehensive service and global-running operation capability of metallurgical materials. On the basis of the former cooperation, Sinosteel would like to further consolidate, expand and develop the business cooperation relationship and strengthen on all-round, mutual-trust and win-win strategic cooperation partnership so as to promote co-development.
GM Li Guiyang welcomed the visit of Mr. Huang and expressed his gratitude to the support of raw materials supply, equipment import and technique service from Sinosteel. He also generally introduced the operation situation and development of Xuanhua Steel. There are many cooperating opportunities, especially in the fields of engineering projects and raw material supply such as iron ore. Xuanhua Steel had a better understanding of Sinosteel through the introduction and visit of Mr. Huang this time; they would like to establish long-term and stable strategic cooperation partnership, promote the all-round cooperation and further expand the cooperating fields and scale. The 2004 revenue of Xuanhua Steel is 10.6 billion yuan, benefit 400 million yuan. The production per year is 5 million tons of iron, 3.5 million tons of steel and 3.9 million tons of steel products (expected to reach 5.5 million tons in 2010).
Besides, with the company of leaders from Xuanhua Steel, the delegation led by Mr. Huang also visited the bar shop and the Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Company TRT project in Xuanhua Steel.
Vice president Mr. Li Zhimin and heads of Management and Development Dept., Sinosteel Trading, Sinosteel Iron & Steel, Sinosteel Shipping, Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering and Sinosteel Tendering also accompanied Mr. Huang in the visit.
