From March 6 to 7, 2006, on invitation, president Huang Tianwen led a delegation attending the 12th World Steel Conference held in Barcelona, Spain, and delivered a speech titled China Steel Status & Outlook.The World Steel Conference was hosted by CRU—a world famous commodity research institute, so it was of particular specialty and frontier ness with great influence in industry in the world, especially in Europe and America for all these years. Chinese steel industry is brought to the conference for the first time this year, and the Chinese representatives taking part in the conference are from Sinosteel, Anben Steel and Baosteel, etc. On the first day of the conference, president Huang started his speech by introducing Sinsoteel, then the current situation of Chinese steel industry; Chinese steel industry prospect--macro-economic atmosphere & Chinese industrial policy laying foundation for the sustainable development of steel industry; the sustainable development of steel industry & China and the world attaching to each other, which was well received and actively respond and aroused worldwide attention. During the conference, Sinosteel delegation had exchanged views extensively on Chinese steel production capacity, raw materials prices, steel trade, steel strategies, steel product futures, Commonwealth of Independence States market with European Arcelor, Celsa in Spain, VISA in India, MIDREX in the US and Macquarie Bank. President Huang had also received interviews by BLOOMBERG and CRU STEELWEEK. Mr. Huang pointed out that European steel industry has enjoyed a long history with great business potential. Sinosteel would consider further developing European market, improving communications with European customers, strengthening on cooperation, realizing mutual benefit so as to bring Europe a new Sinosteel overseas business developing field.
President Huang taking part in World Steel Industry this time is the first time that Sinosteel has assigned senior level delegation attending an international steel conference for all these years. Through this conference, Sinosteel has established Sinosteel influence, got to know customers in the industry. The visit was successfully received.
