On March 18, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreement between Sinosteel Corporation and Tianjin Port (Group) Ltd was held in Tianjin. Sinosteel president Huang Tianwen and Tianjin Port Group president Yu Rumin signed on behalf of each party.Tianjin Port Group has been listed “Chinese 500 Top Enterprises” and “500 Top Service Enterprises” in China for years. As the modern international deepwater port with advanced facilities, scientific management, high efficiency and environmental protection, Tianjin Port is becoming the container hob port for the northeast Asia and facing central west Asia, the largest major bulk cargo terminal in north China, the largest and most open bonded port and the major support port of Tianjin as the international aviation transport center and international logictic center in north China.
Sinosteel has kept long-term friendly cooperation with Tianjin Port Group. The business transaction volume of Sinosteel Shipping Company increases rapidly in Tianjin Port, with the total cargo agent volume reaching 4.8 million tons in 2005, in the front row in Tianjin Port cargo agent companies.
The further all-round cooperation between Sinosteel and Tianjin Port Group on multi-levels and in broader areas and the establishment of strategic cooperation partnership are important for realizing win-win cooperation, making up each other’s shortcomings and co-development. According to the agreement, Tianjin Port Group will provide Sinosteel shipment high-quality and efficient port operation, launch more beneficial policies and shorten berthing time. Sinsoteel will exert the overall advantages, further expand the business volume in Tianjin Port, fully utilize Tianjin Port advantages and relying on its strong capacity in ore, coal and container products, consolidates large amount of domestic and foreign trade in iron ore, coke, steel products, chrome ore and manganese ore, provding strong support for the sustainable development of logistic business.
The two sides also agreed on consolidating the cooperation in capital, assets and investment and promoting the strategic cooperation partnership so as to contribute more to the vitalization of Bohai Sea Economic Circle and regional economic prosperity.
On the signing ceremony, general manager of Sinosteel Shipping Bao Hongwu and Business Director of Tianjin Port Group Hong Ming signed export coke mutually beneficial price and quantity agreement.
