On July 27, 2006, Sinosteel and Tangshan Guofeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd signed strategic cooperative agreement at the coastal industrial zones promotion conference in Tangshan, Hebei Province. Sinosteel President Huang Tianwen delivered speech at the promotion conference, and signed on the agreement with Tangshan Guofeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd GM Zhang Zhen representing two sides.
Located near Bo Hai, Tangshan is rich in natural resources. With a top ranking economic volume in Hebei Province, Tangshan has solid industrial basis, complete infrastructure and excellent investment environment. As a major iron & steel production base in Hebei, Fengnan district has established five systems of core products as board, strip, tube, wire and specialities.
Tangshan Guofeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd is a large-scale iron & steel enterprise integrating sintering, iron-making, steel-making and steel rolling, with an annul steel production of 5 million tons. It is the largest narrow strip steel productive enterprise in China and gains good fame in metallurgical industry.
In virtue of this strategic cooperative agreement, the two parties will effectively use the advantages of Fengnan District, launch more complete and profound cooperation and dedicate to the improvement of local economy as well as the harmonious and sound development of China Steel Industry.
