With glorious history and patriotic tradition of over eighty years, NEU has been accumulating strong faculty and academic strength. The achievements in talents training, scientific research, realization of research findings has increasing the value of its role as a national key multi-discipline university majored in science. Focusing on discipline establishment, NEU has vigorously developed new rising disciplines as computer, robotization while maintaining advantages in traditional disciplines of metallurgy, materials, mining, machinery etc. The research level of Control Science and Engineering is of first ranking in China. What’s more, NEU is the first university in China establishing Science Park ---NEU Science Park.
Both NEU and Sinosteel pertained to Ministry of Metallurgical Industry in history. Over the years, Sinosteel and its subsidiaries has been keeping good cooperative partnership with NEU in a broad scope. As a major origin of Sinosteel personnel, NEU has delivered a good many graduates to Sinosteel, some of whom are playing important roles in corporate production, operation, management, scientific research etc.
In virtue of this strategic cooperative partnership, Sinosteel will further exert its advantages, make full use of the basic research capability and talents training system in NEU, and establish a technology innovation system that linking industry, science and research with joint effort. It is not only a measure implementing the spirit of National Science & Technology Conference, but also a strategic option aiming at enhancing mutual core competence and seeking leap-forward development.
