Invited by the world’s largest steel producer ArcelorMittal, Mr. Jia Baojun, President of Sinosteel Corporation led a delegation to Belgium on June 9th, 2011 to attend ArcelorMittal Procurement Summit. Mr. Jia Baojun delivered a speech and visited the AM’s steel plant in Ghent.
With over 60 steel plants in 27 countries and regions, AM group is currently the largest steel producer around the world. The Procurement Summit is an important annual gathering for the procurement managers in AM Group to exchange views and optimize procurement activities. The discussions of this year’s summit are developed around “Procurement Transformation”. Mr. Jia Baojun was invited to give a speech entitled “Make our Development Part of Your Legend”. Mr. Jia shared his opinions about how to cope with the challenges faced by the whole iron and steel industry, and gave introductions on the practice of Sinosteel as experience sharing. Moreover, as invited by AM Group, on the basis of AM’s procurement transformation, Mr. Jia gave introductions on the development of Chinese manufacturing sector and the “lean service” concept of Sinosteel. AM Group expressed warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Sinosteel delegation led by Mr. Jia, and the two companies are both looking forward to more in-depth cooperation in the future.
Mr. Jia and the delegation also visited Sinosteel Germany on June 10th, 2011, and encouraged Sinosteel Germany to make further contributions to the sustainable development of Sinosteel.
