Sinosteel Corporation Annual Meeting 2006 was held on Jan. 12 and 13 in Beijing. President Mr. Huang Tianwen delivered work report. In his report, he made a brief review on the work of the corporation in the past year and pointed out that the year 2005 is a year of all-round reform advancement in Sinosteel. For the year, adhering to Deng Xiaoping Theory and "Three Represents", practicing the Scientific Concept of Development and under SASAC correct guidance and support from various departments, Sinosteel Corporation emancipates the mind, transforms the conception, seizes the opportunities and makes progress. We have achieved great progress and laid a good foundation for long-term development. He also analyzed the current situation and challenges in market, operation, management, talents and internationalized development. As per the work in 2006, he laid comprehensive arrangement in nine aspects. The report was highly praised by the representatives due to its concrete concent, clear thought, definite aim and specific measures. On the meeting, director of the 52ed Office of the Supervision Commission Mr. Wu Baozhong, on behalf of the Supervision Commission, affirmed Sinosteel's achievements and raised hope on seizing the opportunity, accelerating the development, raising anti-risk awareness and consolidating the core businesses. The Legal Affairs Dept. did analysis and explanation on some legal cases. Mr. Zhao Zhenhua, professor at the Party School of the Central Committee made a report on current situation. After the meeting, vice president Mr. Dong Zhixiong made a summary; and following the spirit of this meeting, he also raised requirements on practising work in 2006. It is summoned that all Sinosteel staff follow the direction of SASAC, practise Scientific Concept of Development in an all-round way, face the challenges with confidence, seize the opportunities, speed up development, work in line with the spirit of "united, down-to-earth, efficient and enterprising" and make efferts for realizing the strategic goal and a new reform stage. Related leaders from SASAC attended the meeting; over 600 leaders including corporation leaders, vice GM and GM of companies in Beijing, out of Beijing and overseas companies also took part in the meeting.
According to the agenda, the meeting was hosted by vice presidents Mr. Jiang Hong, Mr. Wang Zhenwu and Mr. Li Zhimin.
