On the morning of July the 7th, President Huang Tianwen arrived in South Africa to start an official visit; his visiting group included Vice President Jiang Hong, heads of International Cooperation Dept., Sinosteel Raw Materials Co., and Sinosteel Mining Co.On the visit, President Huang Tianwen met with Mr. Danko, Chairman of Samancor Chrome Ltd. and CEO Mr. Jurgen; also met with Mr. Zuma, Chairman of the Governing Party of African National Congress of South Africa and Mr. Chabane, Vice Governor of Limpopo Province; on the invitation, he attended the South Africa Ferro Alloys 2008 Conference, and delivered a keynote address.
President Huang and his group inspected Sinosteel South Africa Pty Ltd., Tubatse Chrome Ptv Ltd., ASA Metals Pty., Ltd., smelt mill of ASA and Samancor, he gave his ample affirmation to all the works done by the above units, satisfied with the performance in the first half of the year, admired to all staffs for their professional work, he also hoped all subsidiaries at there give high regard on the safety production and the personal security, pay attention to strike a proper balance between work and rest, take care of theirselves, create new achievement.
On the morning of July the 10th, accompanied by General Manager of mine, President Huang and his group went to inspect Samanco mine, he went down to 400 meters in the pit mine for inspect the development of chrome mine and the operation of mine project. In the afternoon, he went to Pretoria, the capital of South Africa and met with Ambassador Zhong Jianhua. Firstly he expressed his sincere gratitude to the support and help from Chinese Embassy in South Africa on the development of Sinosteel in South Africa, then introduced the new operation on expand the investment and the mine project. Ambassador Zhong said that the Embassy will support the business development of Sinosteel in South Africa.
