Vice President Mr. Dong Zhixiong Leading a Delegation Attending the Navigation Opening Ceremony of Tangshan Caofeidian Port

On the morning of Dec. 16, 2005, vice president Mr. Dong Zhixiong, accompanied by general manager of Sinosteel Shipping Mr. Bao Hongwu and vice general manager of Sinosteel Trading Mr. Wang Qing, attended the navigation opening ceremony of the 250,000 tons of iron ore port—Tangshan Caofeidian Port on behalf of Sinosteel.Hebei Province secretary, director of the provincial CPPCC Mr. Bai Keming attended the navigation opening ceremony and announced the official navigation of Tangshan Caofeidian Port start. Vice ministor of the Ministry of Communications Mr. Weng Mengyong, chief engineer of China Customs Mr. Yang Guoxun, deputy chief of the general staff of Beijing Military Region Mr. Wang Qingding, the vice director of the Frontier Defence Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security Mr. Qi Huanxiang and other central government departments and troop leaders attended the navigation opening ceremony. Media delivered live broadcast of this ceremony.

Before the navigation opening ceremony, the first Moto Vessel “Kildall” carrying 210,000 tons of iron ore from Australian Hamerslay to Shougang Group and Tangshan Steel Group successfully anchored the port. It is also the largest vessel anchoring in the port since the opening of Bohai Sea. Shortly after, the second foreign vessel carrying 180,000 tons of ore for Tangshan Steel Group also anchored successfully. The above mentioned cargo are both forwarded by Sinosteel Shipping & Forwarding Hebei Co., Ltd., which also marks a step further in the cooperation between Sinosteel and Tangshan Steel Group.
