On the meeting, Sinosteel and Han Consulting Signing Strategic Cooperation Agreement On the evening of Nov. 29, Sinosteel held “Sinosteel ERP Section 1 Installation Press Conference” in Beijing Hotel. Directors and association representatives from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry and China Iron and Steel Association and over 20 media attended the press conference. Sinosteel president Mr. Huang Tianwen and China production industry sales director of Oracle and Han Consulting president attended the conference and delivered theme speeches. Vice director of Information Office of SASAC, Information Center director Mr. Shi Zhiping and vice director of Information and Automation Promotion Center of China Iron and Steel Industry Mr. Qi Yongxin delivered speeches and highly praised Sinosteel ERP construction and information work.At the beginning of 2004, Sinosteel fixed to extensively promote the information construction with the core of ERP system. It was carried out in line with providing service the long-term developing strategy of the enterprise and supporting the managing upgrade of the enterprise. In the meantime, information construction will benefit to better optimize resource disposition, improve business procedure, implement professional and global operation and raise the core competence of the enterprise. On August 16, 2004, Sinosteel made the decision to install ERP system. It takes only 14 months till the successful installation on Oct. 12. Compared with other enterprises of the same kind, which usually takes 2 to 3 years, the construction period has shortened a lot. At present, the system operates stably well and gradually exerts its realistic effect in operation and management. Through ERP tendering, Sinosteel has adopted international advanced ERP software supply agent—Oracle ERP as Sinosteel ERP system stage and national advanced managing consulting enterprise—Han Consulting (China) as the installer.
On the press conference, Sinosteel and Han Consulting has signed strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will carry out cooperation in more areas and more extensively.
