On the morning of Dec. 1, the signing ceremony of Sinosteel Corporation recombining Jilin Carbon (Group) Co., Ltd. was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Sinosteel president Mr. Huang Tianwen, Jilin governor assistant, director of Jilin SASAC Mr. Wang Zuji signed on behalf of each party. Vice director of SASAC Mr. Shao Ning, deputy director general of Economic Operation Department of NDRC Mr. Jia Yinsong, party secretary of China Iron and Steel Association Mr. Liu Zhenjiang, Jilin governor Mr. Wang Min, vice governor Mr. Niu Haijun, vice director of Jilin CPPCC Mr. Li Jieche and other leaders form Jilin SASAC and CDRC and general manager of Jilin Carbon Group Mr. Li Yongzhi attended the signing ceremony.In 2005, Sinosteel has invested in Xi’an Metallurgical Machinery, Luoyang Refratory (Group) Co., Ltd., Zunyi Ferroalloy Co., Ltd. and Shandong Cangshan Iron Ore Mine, and it has successfully recombined Jilin Carbon Group. Through the implementation of the recombination, acquisition and project investment, and on the basis of having further expanded resource supply in iron ore, chrome ore and manganese ore, Sinosteel will consolidate capability in R & D, production and supply of carbon, refractory, ferroalloy and metallurgical equipment manufacture. In this way, Sinosteel further improves its comprehensive auxiliary service for steel industry, especially steel mills and further raise the core competence.
The recombination of Jilin Carbon Group by Sinosteel is good for the implementation of scientific concept of development between central enterprise and local enterprise, realization of making up each other’s shortcomings through win-win cooperation, raise of the self-developing capability of the national carbon industry and international competence and the promotion of the reserve of the central and local state-owned assets. Through the successful recombination, it also effectively draws the development of the related industries in Jilin Province or even the northeast region, which is good for realizing the economic prosperity of northeast China and the promotion of the northeast old industrial base.
