On the morning of Oct. 19, the second China-ASEAN Expo was held in Nanning Convention & Exhibition Center, sponsored by Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the charging economic and trade departments from ten ASEAN countries and ASEAN Secretariat and organized by the people’s Government of GuangXi Zhuang Autonomous Region. China’s vice chairman Mr. Zeng Qinghong declared the opening of the second China-ASEAN Expo. Sinosteel participated in the expo upon invitation, mainly exhibiting the result of “Go Global” to develop mineral resources, provide comprehensive auxiliary service for steel production, expand the influence of Sinosteel in ASEAN countries and cooperate with the business development in the region.Relying on the establishment of ASEAN-China Free Trade Area, China-ASEAN Expo provides a stage for two-way inter-exchange, cooperation and win-win. The expo highly specializes in joining the tax-reduced commodities with cooperating fields in priority, actively opens Chinese market to ASEAN countries and promotes commodities from ASEAN countries into China. The expo also encourages Chinese enterprises to “Go Global” to ASEAN countries to conduct investment and cooperation and welcomes ASEAN countries to provide projects attracting Chinese investment. The expo is also a bridge for ASEAN commodities into China and a stage for Chinese enterprises to “Go Global” to invest in ASEAN countries. Besides, the expo mainly chooses tourism and science & technology with priority to support trade and nurtures new growing point for China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.
The second China-ASEAN Expo has collected over 6,600 popularizing projects, 151 assured foreign agreements and 312 domestic cooperating projects. It is estimated that the total capital of the internal cooperating projects will exceed 50 billion yuan. Business & Investment Summit was held in International Conference Center, Liyuan Hotel, Nanning. Vice chairman of Myanmar, prime minister of Burma, vice prime minister of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Wan Jifei, Chairman, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; H.E. Mr. Lu Bing, Governor of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Mr. Wang Jingrong from the ASEAN Secretariat delivered speeches. Over 900 guests from ASEAN countries governments, chamber and association leaders, exhibiting entrepreneurs, representatives from other regions, Chinese central and local officials, members of CCPIT and Guangxi Province attended the summit. Vice president Mr. Dong Zhixiong also attended the summit.
