On the afternoon of May 22, Mr. Xu Siwei, President of Sinosteel Corporation, Chairman of Sinosteel Corporation Limited, together with Mr. Liu Andong, Party Secretary of Sinosteel Corporation and General Manager of Sinosteel Corporation Limited, met the delegation led by Mr. Lin Zongtang, the former minister of Ministry of Aerospace Industry in conference room of Sinosteel head office, with result of that both sides conducted exchanges and discussion as for shared concerns including scientific and technical R&D and innovation etc. Additionally, Zhang Baoning, the former Secretary of Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres of China Aviation Industry Corporation, Wang Xinyan, the former general manager of Xi’an Aero-Engine Corporation, Zhang Haiou and Wang Guilan, professors of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Lu Pengcheng, the deputy general manager of sinosteel also attended the meeting.
Firstly, Xu Siwei on behalf of Sinosteel extended his warm welcome to Lin Zongtang and his delegation for their visits. He said, with the adjustment, transformation and upgrading of business, Sinosteel had determined technical R&D and new materials industry as one of its core business. Responding positively to the call of national strategy - 'Made in China 2025', the company would cooperate with relevant scientific research institutions to leverage their respective advantages and strive to make breakthroughs and innovations in the field of traditional metallurgical industry. He hoped to continuously receive guidance and support from Mr. Lin in the aspects of new materials R&D, high-end metal components and equipment manufacturing because Lin is a senior technical specialist of national industries, for the purpose of constantly improving the core competitiveness of Sinosteel, making contributions to the progress of equipment manufacturing technology of national industry.
Liu Andong at first expressed his gratitude to the delegation led by Mr. Lin for their arrangement of time in busy schedule to visit Sinosteel for guidance, and then introduced some of specific information about the cooperative project of metal additive manufacturing implemented by Sinosteel and the team of professor Zhang Haiou and Wang Guilan of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Liu also expressed his hopes to receive support and help from Mr. Lin.
After listening to the project description, Mr. Lin fully affirmed the feasibility of the project, and pointed out that the key issue is to reduce the costs of material and processing through technological innovation, to improve quality of products made in China, for the purpose of further enhancing the international competitiveness. In the process of project development, every second should count in both technological process innovation and design innovation to strive for an early outcome, making contributions to promoting the development of Chinese industry and achieving the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Lin also expressed that he would try his best to give support and help for the project development and technical promotion.
Before the talks, Lu Pengcheng accompanied the guests to visit the Exhibition Hall of Sinosteel.
Other relevant persons in charge of Sinosteel , Corporate Development Department and Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd also attended the meeting.
