From May 21 to 23, the 2nd China Steelmaking Raw Materials & Finished Products Conference held in Sofitel Wanda Beijing. This conference was hosted by Sinosteel Corporation and CRU Events, both parties have had jointly and successfully hosted the first China Steelmaking Raw Materials & Finished Products Conference in 2006, they cooperated one again. There were nearly three hundreds people attended the conference, including leaders from National Development & Reform Commission of China, China Iron & Steel Association, Chinese Society of Metals, and others leaders from government departments and industrial associations; also including specialty people from steel circles, from multi-nations and regions attended the conference; the themes of the conference was communicated and discussed into surrounding Chinese steel industial economy, politics, development, save energy and reduce the emission of pollutants, supply constraints & globalisation, beneficial sustainable, raw materials supply, variational trading environment, and co-discussed on the development of global steel industry.The conference was hosted by Sinosteel Vice President Li Zhimin and Executive Director of Commodities Research Macquarie Bank Jim Lennon, Sinosteel President Huang Tianwen delivered an opening address, CEO of CRU Mike Bardon delivered an welcome address.

As the luminous point of the conference, those were the hosts invited head of Arup International Consultants Co., Ltd. deliveried a speech named “The Use of Structural Steel in Beijing Olympics Projects”, and organized the visit to National stadium Birds Nest Stadium & the National Aquatics Center Water Cube after the end of day one, then watched the “Good Luck Beijing” race competition at National Stadium, which were received the welcome by attendees.
