During Chinese Primer Li Keqiang’s visit to Australia and New Zealand in March, Xu Siwei ,Chairman of Sinostee was invited to attend the Australia-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. After that Xu conducted a field survey on the sea sand iron project and meanwhile he also attended the New Zealand-China Business Council Conference and guided the work of Sinosteel International Holdings Company during his return trip.Chinese Primer li Keqiang and Australian Prime Minister Turnbull attended the Sino-Australian CEO roundtable and the Australia-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum. Xu Siwei and Jean Sebastien Jacques, CEO of RIO TINTO were invited to attend. Xu Siwei said that Sinosteel was one of the earliest Chinese enterprises which conducted the “going global” policy, and through the mineral resources trade, overseas investment and engineering project, Sinosteel made achievements in globalization. Channar Joint Venture will be in its third decade in 2017, and it has become an example of the longest, most successful project for cooperation between China and Australia. Channar iron ore mine has become ties that connect Chinese and Australian economy. In the future, Sinosteel will also further expand its business in Australia's market, and plans to carry out cooperation in the technological new material market and will actively explore ways of cooperation with Australian enterprises in other relevant sectors.
In March 26, Xu Siwei and other major accompany personnel conducted a field survey on the sea sand iron project. He was briefed on the exploration results, estimated reserves and other relevant information of the project. He also talked to the land owner, David Peacock, recommended that all interested parties including Sinosteel Australian Company and product users should collaborate to boost the project.
In March 27, the New Zealand-China Business Council Conference hosted by CCOIC and New Zealand-China Trade Association successfully held in Auckland. Xu Siwei as delegate of Chinese entrepreneur attended and exchanged of information with Mati Thomson, Chairman of New Zealand-China Trade Association. Mati said China and New Zealand always in a good momentum during the bilateral trade, and this conference will bring more cooperation opportunities for two sides.
During his return, Xu Siwei guided the work of Sinosteel International Holdings Company, accompanied by Jiang Hong, Hong Kong and Macao general representative of Sinosteel. Xu put forward demands, he requested Sinosteel International Holdings Company to continue improving traditional business, and at the same time, actively coped with the current management difficulty and seized more opportunities for further development. Besides, the platform company should make more attempts in management.
