On April 7, Mr. Tianwen Huang led a delegation visiting Tianjin Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. Vice president Mr. Lin He, heads of President’s Office, Management & Development Dept., Sinosteel Trading, Sinosteel Raw Materials, Sinosteel Engineering, Sinosteel Investment, Sinosteel Shipping, Sinosteel Tendering and Sinosteel Tiantie accompanied him.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Tianjin Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. The chairman of Tianjin Steel, Mr. Guiyi Han, who is also the general manager, and the related leaders held talks with the delegation from Sinosteel.
On the talks, Mr. Huang introduced the history, current operating situation and developing strategic thought to chairman Mr. Han; he also stressed that the rapid development of Tianjin Steel in recent years lays a good foundation for the communication and cooperation between Sinosteel and Tianjin Steel and there are broad cooperating room and developing prospect between both sides. Sinosteel would like to realize mutual benefit, make up each other’s shortcomings, conduct all-round cooperation and reach win-win development on the footing of good communications.
Chairman Mr. Guiyi Han expressed his welcome and sincere gratitude to the delegation led by Mr. Tianwen Huang. He also briefly introduced the history and operating situation of Tianjin Steel and extended the wish to start all-round, far-reaching strategic cooperation with Sinosteel.
After the talk, the delegation visited the production spot and construction site of Tianjin Steel, accompanied by Mr. Guiyi Han.
Tianjin Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. is a state-owned large steel mill integrated with sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking and steel rolling, with an annual production of 1.4 million tons of iron, 2.6 million tons of steel and 2.1 million tons of steel products. It is estimated that by the end of 2005, when the constructing equipment are put into operation, its producing capacity will reach 4 million tons of iron, 4 million tons of steel and 4 million tons of steel products per year.
The successful visit of Mr. Tianwen Huang not only promotes the mutual understanding and trust, but also lays a solid foundation for the establishment of sincere cooperation and strategic cooperation partnership between the two companies in the future.
