The 8th Sino-Korean Official-Civil Talk and the 10th Sino-Japanese Official-Civil Talk were held in Seoul and Tokyo recently.
The Chinese delegation included 24 persons from Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, China Iron & Steel Association, China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters, Sinosteel Corporation, Baosteel Group Corporation, Anben Steel, Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation, Masteel, Jinan Steel Group Corporation, Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corporation and Minmetals Corporation.
On behalf of Sinosteel, vice president Dong Zhixiong and personnel from Sinosteel Iron & Steel Company went to the talks. Chinese party and Korean party and Chinese & Japanese discussed deeply on the economic situation, the production and sale of steel products, bilateral trade, international economic situation and international steel product market. They reaffirmed the importance of steel industry official-civil talk. The talks reached the goal of improving communication and understanding.
During the talks, vice president Dong Zhixiong communicated with senior managers from POSCO, Hyundai, Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd., Nippon Steel and JFE. Vice president Dong mainly introduced the rapid development of Sinosteel in recent years. He said that Chinese steel products are complementary to Japanese and Korean steel products, and he expressed the wish of cooperation that was actively responded by the Japanese and Korean sides. They showed the interest in discussing and cooperating on the steel products that each party needs, and they wished to visit Sinosteel in due time. The Japanese party, attending the 9th Sino-Japanese Official-Civil Talk in November of last year or not, highly praised on Sinosteel reception held in Diaoyutai State Guest House.
