May 20th, on behalf of Chairman Huang Tianwen, Vice-President of Sinosteel Corporation Limited Gong Jingsheng participated in the meeting of the International Nickel Association Board meeting, which held in Cape Town, South Africa. The meeting unanimously adopted Sinosteel at as the first Chinese member of the Association, and elected Chairman Huang Tianwen as the board member of the association.
International Nickel Association a non-profit organization headquartered in Toronto, Canada, launched by main nickel production companies worldwide. It has 10 offices and 34 fixed staff around the world. The association currently has 24 members, whose total output amount to more than 85% of the world’s overall production, namely, Norilsk、BHPB、Vale Inco etc. It provides a communication platform for the communication of members; its main task is to discuss the common issues within the industry to realize balanced and coherent development.
Making use of the International Nickel Association, Sinosteel could gradually build up long term cooperation with giant nickel producers, seeking opportunities and establishing cooperation of techniques and projects.
