On September 1, 2005, president Mr. Huang Tianwen led a delegation visiting Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research (SLIRR). With the company of SLIRR chairman Mr. Yang Hongzhi, Mr. Huang and his delegation visited SLIRR production line and got to know the general production and operation situation of SLIRR. After the visit, Mr. Li Xingtai, vice secretary of Luoyang City Committee, and Mr. Tang Chao, Luoyang SASAC director, met Mr. Huang in SLIRR.
During the meeting, chairman Mr. Yang Hongzhi and vice general manager Mr. Li Yong introduced the general situation of SLIRR, the eleventh 5-year developing plan and the complementation of Sinosteel and SLIRR in industrial development. Vice secretary Mr. Li Xingtai introduced the investing environment in Luoyang and the related policies issued by Luoyang City Committee and the municipal government. Afterwards, Mr. Huang briefly introduced the reform and the developing situation of Sinosteel and explained that as a large central enterprise that provides complete set of service for steel mills, Sinosteel would like to integrate the resources of both sides by coalition to consolidate refratories, raise market competence, promote the local economic development and to realize win-win of both the central and local enterprises.
Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research is a large enterprise established during the first 5-year plan in 1958, covering an area of 1.1149 million square meters, total assets 1.128 billion yuan, 4,389 employees, annual production capacity 220 thousand tons and revenue 540 million yuan. Main products cover iron and steel, non-ferrous metal, construction materials, petroleum and chemical.
