On April 28, Sinosteel president Huang Tianwen led a delegation to visit and inspect Hunan and attend the framework agreement signing ceremony of merging Hengyang Nonferrous Metallurgical Plant. Having arrived in Changsha, president Huang Tianwen met Hunan Vice Governor Xiao Jie.On behalf of Hunan Government, Hunan vice governor Xiao Jie first expressed warm welcome and sincere gratitude to president Huang and his entourage. He happily retrospect on the visit to Sinosteel a month ago and highly praised on Sinosteel fast movement to promote the cooperation with Hunan Province and accelerate the acquisition work. Afterwards, he introduced Hunan local advantages, new opportunity of economic development and the current investing environment and agreed that the cooperation between central enterprises and Hunan Province is good for promoting Hunan economic development. Vice governor Xiao also pointed out that Sinosteel and Hunan enjoyed extensive cooperating opportunities and good prospect. Hunan Government will provide qualified service and create sound investing condition for central enterprises, such as Sinosteel, to develop business. Finanlly, vice governor Xiao wished Sinosteel a better development in Hunan.
President Huang explained the purposes of the visit: first, on the invitation by Hunan vice governor Xiao Jie, Sinosteel visit the relative companies and economic zone in Hunan to learn the local economic developing experience; second, the visit is an answer to the call from SASAC to speed up the cooperation between central enterprises and Hunan and to implement the acquisition. He pointed out that as the requirement of improving the control, influence, driving force and competence of national economy, central enterprises’ merging local companies through various channels can effectively distribute state-owned assets in broader fields, which follows the spirit of 16th CCPCC. With the support, concern and help from Hunan Government, Sinosteel would like to further the communication with Hunan Province and consolidate cooperation on the base of current cooperation so as to realize co-development.
Vice president Wang Zhenwu, chief accountant Liu Andong and heads of relative functional departments and specialized companies also attended the meeting.
