From July 2004 to February 2005, one of Sinosteel subsidiaries--China Metallurgical Engineering Corporation constantly signed contracts with Erdemir Metal San. A.S. and Isdemir Inc. in Turkey that provide two sets of coke oven and coke oven machine with an annual production of 650,000 tons, two 15,000 m3 gas chambers, 29 trolleys, blast furnace coal injection and 300 m2 cementing project. The total contracted money is 110.47 million US dollars. This is the largest metallurgical engineering project that China exported to Turkey.
In the competition with renowned enterprises from Luxemburg, Austria, Germany, UK and Switzerland, China Metallurgical Engineering Corporation of Sinosteel won the bidding of Erdemir and Isdemir engineering transformation & production switch, which shows that Sinosteel has already possesses the techniques and service to participate in the international competition. Sinosteel Corporation has become one of the globally well-known steel manufacturers.
