China and India held the 1st conference on “ECO Forum of Sino-India Enterprises” in New Delhi on May 20 during the Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to India. At request, President Jia Baojun attended the conference and delivered a speech on cooperation in mineral resources. On May 21, Present Jia also took part in “Sino-India Dinner Party for Commercial Cooperation” in Bombay, and met Premier Li together with other Chinese corporate representatives to CEO Forum.
“Sino-India CEO Forum Mechanism” sponsored jointly by China Ministry of Commerce and India Ministry of Commerce is a crucial platform for crucial cooperation between large enterprises of the two as declared in the joint communiqué by the two countries. At the conference, discussion on four economic and trade issues concerning financial services, energy and mineral resources, high-tech and cultural industry is promoted by representatives from 20-over large enterprises of both countries. The results of the forum are documented in the joint communiqué of Premier Li’s visit to India.
When delivering the keynote speech on mineral cooperation at the forum, President Jia first introduced Sinosteel Corp. and highlighted that Sinosteel Corp. has long been committed to promoting cooperation in steel industry of two countries and is the first enterprise that has set up a state-owned company in India, and that the trade volume between the Corp. and India in products such as iron ore, chrome ore, coke, rollers and refectory materials has always among the top, owning the maximum cooperative projects with Indian steel enterprises. The 1st conference on “ECO Forum of Sino-India Enterprises” is a great opportunity for cooperative development of the two countries, therefore, Sinosteel Corp. has a strong will to further enhance and upgrade its cooperation with large enterprises such as ESSAR, SAIL and TATA in India so as to jointly promote cooperation in mineral resources and steel industry development of a third country between India and China.
At the evening of the 21st, President Jia attended “Sino-India Dinner Party for Commercial Cooperation” in Bombay and listened to the keynote speech by Premier Li.
