After the devastating earthquake happened on May 12th, 2008, Sinosteel Corporation offered sincere concern and supports to the disaster-affected areas. The employees of Sinosteel donated 2.3 million RMB to the disaster affected areas, and the company contributed a special donation of 5 million RMB for the construction of three Hope Primary schools in Qing Chuan County and another two districts in Guangyuan City. All the three Hope Schools have been operating since the end of 2010, offering more opportunities to the kids in those areas with experienced teachers and decent equipments.
During July 18-23, as invited by Sinosteel Corporation, a group of the students’ representatives traveled a long distance to Beijing, and started their 6-days joyful Summer Camp. The students visited the placed of interests in Beijing, as well as Qinghua University and Peking University which inspired the students a lot. Sinosteel also invited the students to Sinosteel Plaza for a visit, and tasted the dishes in Sinosteel Canteen. This summer camp not only offers the students a delightful experience in Beijing, but also inspired them to study hard and make each day count, and encouraged them to realize their dreams.
