On April 14, a High-Level Forum on Sino-Swedish Corporate Social Responsibility was held jointly by SASAC State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Swedish government in Beijing Diaoyutai State Gueshouse. Swedish Prime Minister John Fredrik Reinfeldt and Director of SASAC Li Rongrong attended the forum and both delivered a speech for the occasion. Hosted by Vice Director of SASAC Huang Shuhe, there were over thirty Swedish enterprises and fifteen central enterprises participated on the forum.President Huang Tianwen deliveried the theme speech on the forum, titled ”Be a Responsible Enterprise and Promote Harmonious Development”. On his speech he pointed out that, while promoting the healthy development of the world’s iron and steel industry and contributing to global prosperity, as a multinational corporation, Sinosteel Corporation has pursued the ideal of the Chinese government of building a harmonious world, worked to cultivate the image of a responsible Chinese enterprise by implementing social responsibility, promoting global development and honouring our commitment to sustainable development globally. He introduced the five principles of Sinosteel Corporation’s global development: Principle 1: Promoting economic prosperity, realizing mutual benefits; Principle 2: Prioritizing the protection of the ecological environment; Principle 3: Developing harmoniously, building a harmonious community; Principle 4: Respecting diversity of culture; Principle 5: Building harmonious Sinosteel Corporation. Finally he also pointed out that along with all responsible corporate citizens, Sinosteel Corporation will operate lawfully and honestly, conserve resources and preserve environment, stick to people centeredness in our efforts to cultivate a harmonious society so as to make further contribution to global economic prosperity, cultivation of a harmonious world and the sustainable development of world economy, environment and society.
