The Launching Ceremony of 2009 Sinosteel Scie-tech High Level Forum grandly held on Aug. 7th at Sinosteel Plaza. Party secretary of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dean Mr. Xu Kuangdi lead 10 academicians to Sinosteel to further promote the research and innovation ability of Sinosteel. 15 academicians were rewarded as Sinosteel Scie-tech consultant. This initiative is to further improve the general Scie-tech ability, to lead our country into the forefront in the world steel industry. Chairman Huang Tianwen, Deputy Dean Pan Yunhe and Wu Hequan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the launching ceremony and the forum.
Sinosteel Corporation Signed a technological cooperation agreement with the Chinese Academy of Engineering in early 2009, and this high level forum is an important cooperative activity of the agreement. Sinosteel is the only enterprise that the Chinese Academy of Engineering is cooperating with, the two parties enjoys a broad perspective for future cooperation.
Sinosteel has a strong capability of independent innovation, owning R&D and manufacturing base of exploration & beneficiation, safety and environmental protection, carbon products, refractory materials, metal products, ferroalloys and metallurgical equipments. In recent years, Sinosteel is constantly improving its overall capability in providing comprehensive services, basically realized the strategic transaction from a traditional trading enterprise to a modern service producer. In 2009, Sinosteel was listed in the World Top 500 released by Fortune Magazine, ranking the 372nd. In this phase, Sinosteel felt the urgent need to further development its R & D ability, providing long-term support for the healthy and stable development of Sinosteel.
