On April 17, the 4th China International Steel Congress was held in Hotel Kunlun, Beijing. President Huang Tianwen attended the congress and participated in the theme discussion in the morning. China International Steel Congress is a high-level conference focusing on the profound, overall and strategic questions of the steel industry. The congress has become a leading international event of the steel industry. The theme of the 4th China International Steel Congress in 2006 is the development of the steel industry in 2006-2010. Hosted by China Iron and Steel Association, and organized by Metallurgical Council of CCPIT, the congress includes a Plenary Session discussing policy and economic environment, demand and capacity forecasts, raw material demand and supply, restructuring and consolidation, technological innovations, Technical Seminars present in the state-of-the-art technologies of iron making, steel making and continuous casting, hot rolling, cold rolling and coating, and automation.
