Liu Andong and His Delegation Left for Australia to Attend the Activities Including Sino-Australian Business Council

From July 9 to July 10, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group, Liu Andong, left for Australia to attend the activities such as China - Australia Business Council and “The Belt and Road” Seminar in Australia, and he carried out the fruitful exchanges with the guests from all walks of life and respectively make speeches and keynote speeches. Yin Zonghua, Vice Chairman of CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) and China Chamber of International Commerce; Cheng Jingye, Chinese Ambassador to Australia; Gu Xiaojie, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney; Fiamar Morton, Executive General Manager of Global Customer Management of Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Michael Gunner, Chief Minister of Northern Territory Government and others attended the relevant activities.

On July 9, Liu Andong attended China-Australia Business Council held in Sydney and made a speech. Liu Andong represented Business Council and Sinosteel Group as the chairman unit of Business Council to thank the guests giving support and trust for a long time, simply introduced the basic information of Business Council and the Group, reviewed the traditional friendship between China and Australia and went over the development course of Channar – a model of cooperation between the two countries. In Liu Andong’s speech, he shared the experience of Sinosteel’s investment and operation in Australia for many years with the guests and also put forward the specific suggestions on how Business Council would better operate and develop and give better play to the role of the Sino-Australian enterprise exchange platform in the next step.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Yin Zonghua represented China Chamber of International Commerce to sign Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between such two institutions with Executive General Manager Fiamar Morton of Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The meeting was co-organized by China Chamber of International Commerce and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and over 80 representatives in total from the industrial and commercial circles of China and Australia attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, Liu Andong left for Business Room of Consulate General in Sydney to attend Seminar of Chinese-funded Enterprises. He also accompanied Vice Chairman Yin Zonghua to meet with Fiamar Morton, Executive General Manager of Global Customer Management of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Emerson, Chairman of the Australia China Business Council NSW Branch and Michael Clifton, General Manager of Greater China of Australian Trade Commission.

On July 10, Liu Andong and his delegation rushed to Darwin – the capital of Northern Territory, Australia overnight to attend “The Belt and Road” Seminar in Australia. At the meeting, Liu Andong made a speech with the title of Mutual Benefit, Win-Win Cooperation and Realize the Joint Construction and Sharing in New Development. He expressed that Sinosteel was willing to be an active participant in “The Belt and Road” of the steel industry and hoped that they all would adhere to the belief of “go towards each other, work together” to further strengthen the cooperation and promote the manufacturing mode transformation and industrial transformation and upgrading of the steel industry.

The meeting was sponsored by Australia China Business Council, and over 180 representatives in total from the industrial and commercial circles of China and Australia attended the meeting.

On the very day, Liu Andong also accompanied Vice Chairman Yin Zonghua to meet with Cheng Jingye, Chinese Ambassador to Australia, Michael Gunner, Chief Minister of Northern Territory Government and other government representatives.
